Semester Two General Health and Life Skills

Welcome to the first semester of First Aid.

This course will give students knowledge of what to do for common, mild, serious and life-threatening situations.  The students will be taught using illustrations, photographs and DVD’s to help them understand the problems that they might encounter.

Projects  for the Semester

The design of  a collage on the topic of “Safe Living”  Include pictures and words that will teach others how to live safely.  Student are also responsible for constructing their own First Aid Kit.

Welcome to Driver Education

Students in this course will be educated on the laws governing drivers, the requirements for a license to operate a motor vehicle, and the fundamentals of a road test.  During the semester, students will also study the following topics:

• Driver Safety and the Rules of the Road
• Safe Driving Rules and Regulations
• Defensive Driving
• Drinking, Drugs and Health
• Driver Privileges and Penalties
• Sharing the Road with Others
• Essential Driver Information

Projects for the Semester

Students will construct a roadway with various markings and signs

Students will work together to produce a video on Safe Driving

Students will prepare a trip and learn to read a map of the United States.

The use of Technology is incorporated into the course.

Senior Life Skills

Students will be able to govern their lives as a responsible person in today’s society.  Students will practice and explore options so they will be able to intelligently approach life situations with wisdom and knowledge.

Freshmen General Health

Students will be presented the human body as a beautiful creation designed by God.  Various ways to keep the body functioning in top form will be learned and discussed. Good Health practices will be explored.

Students will have a sound inspirational guide to Good Health

Driver’ Education

During the month of October, students will be learning map reading skills and designing a highway with roadway markings.

All student will be preparing to take the Study for Knowledge Test which will enable them to secure a Driver’s Permit.

First Aid

During the month of October, all students will be making their own First Aid kits.  These kits will be given to all homerooms for their use.

Additionally, the classes will be learning to perform rescue breathing on both infants and adults.  CPR methods and procedures will be performed.
